Awards, Titles and Grants 

Her outstanding career has won her many well-deserved awards, titles and grants. She was felicitated by Karnataka Chief Minister in 1987 and Mayor of Bangalore also in 1987. She was awarded the title of Karnataka Kalashree (from Sangeeta Nrithya Academy) in 2003. and  the title of  "Swar Kala Gaurav Puraskar" (from Saraswati Sangeeta Vidyalaya) in 2009.  She has also received many high-profile grants from prestigious arts organizations such as Durham Arts Council, multiple times from United Arts Council, Raleigh arts commission,  NC Arts Council and Fayetteville arts council.
